LIVING THINKING - LIVING SENSING - LIVING DOING
with Michael D'Aleo
Part #1 - KEENE VALLEY, NY USA
Monday July 30th through Friday August 10th 2018

As our lives become ever busier and surrounded by news and communications that are constantly trying to capture our attention, the ability to be present, have one's own thoughts and initiate the activities that you want to do becomes ever more important. For educators, we see these same issues even more urgently in our students but inwardly we know that unless we develop a deep strength within our own being, we will be ineffective in our inability to bring about real change and development in our students. Unless each teacher takes ones own personal and self-development in hand, we lack one of the most important skills necessary to be authentic human teachers to our students. We also need these qualities to personally maximize the possibilities that each of us are gifted in our present human life.

These two weeks will help each of us develop a ground for self-reliant action that is united with the truthful activities around us. The two weeks will consist of various exercises and experiences to help us perceive more keenly, see through preconceptions, discern where new insights are to be developed and to find that we can in fact DO much more than we ever thought possible.

The course will consist of daily activities to awaken ourselves to both our coarser and the subtle senses, conversations and presentations that encourage us toward new way of thinking and afternoon activities where we become present in powerful places in nature. We will also have the opportunity to work with metal, stone and wood in jewelry and other artistic and practical skills. All basic materials are included in the registration costs.

The program will take place in the pristine Adirondack Mountains - the oldest. and second largest Wilderness Preserve in the lower United States. We will be surrounded by old forests, beautiful mountains and cool mountain streams and lakes. Keene Valley has been a sought after destination for artists, philosophers and naturalists for over 100 years. This wonderful landscape is literally outside of our front door and will support us in developing the themes of our workshop.

Special Presentation - We plan to have a special optional presentation on the weekend of Friday evening August 3rd through noon on Sunday the 5th when Dr. Ana Lups will present on the course theme from the perspective of Esoteric Physiology. She will elaborate on the deeper, inner relationship between the organs and processes in our bodies and our ability to perceive, understand and do our work in the world. Dr. Lups has been an Anthroposophical Physician for over 4 decades and is deeply capable in helping people truly overcome the obstacles to their own destiny and lives.

This promises to be a very special course and one that is intended to help each individual become awake to and begin to consciously strengthen their own inner awareness and initiative. While the course is intended to be taken as a whole and all participants are strongly encouraged to do so, participants can elect to take individual weeks. The guest presentations by Dr. Ana Lups are only open to participants of this course.

For those participants attending from China, a 3rd optional week is available consisting of a tour of Waldorf initiatives and schools in the Northeastern United States. Details for this week are available from Ning.

The focus of this one week summer course will be to deepen and strengthen our ability to experience life more consciously. The daily rhythm will consist of morning presentations and experiential exercises in the natural world. The afternoon will consist of short excursions to strong natural environments where we will practice some of the techniques we learn in the mornings and then allow for time for discussion. There will also be a couple of hours each day for general relaxation and an outbreath from the rest of the days experiences.
